This unique dulcimer was a collaboration between my customer Steve and me. The "long beaked animal" is based on a 12th century Irish Bellshrine. Steve scanned the creature's image into a computer and then edited and fitted it to the size of the fret board. Then he used a computer-guided router to cut out the mother-of-pearl pieces which I inlayed in the dulcimer's ebony fretboard. The result is a visually stunning instrument.
